10 Top Abdominal Weight Loss Exercises

Exercises are listed in alphabetical order. There are three numbers for the amount of calories burned per hour-- the first is for someone who weighs 130 pounds, the second is for someone who weighs 155 pounds and the third is for someone who weighs 190 pounds.

The heavier you are the more calories you will burn for a particular activity.

1. Bicycling

Bicycling outdoors at a speed greater than 20 mph burns 944, 1126, and 1380 calories per hour.

Bicycling on a stationary bike in a vigorous manner (like in a spinning class) can burn 733, 880, and 1078 calories per hour.

2. Boxing

Boxing for an hour can burn 708, 844, and 1035 calories.

3. Calisthenics

Calisthenics are body weight exercises such and push ups, sit ups and lunges. When done vigorously they can burn 472, 563, and 690 calories per hour.

4. Jump Rope

Jumping Rope in a fast continuous way can burn 708, 844, and 1035 calories per hour.

5. Rowing

Rowing or canoeing outdoors burns about 708, 844, and 1035 calories per hour.

Rowing on an indoor stationary rowing machine will burn the same number of calories 708, 844, and 1035 per hour.

6. Running

Running is a great way to burn calories and get in shape. Here are the calories burned for a few different speeds.

Running at 6 minute mile pace (10 miles per hour) burns 944, 1126, and 1380 calories per hour.

Running at 5:30 minute mile pace burns 1062, 1267, and 1553 calories per hour.

Running at 12 minute mile pace (5 mph) burns 472, 563, and 690 calories per hour.

7. Stadium Stairs

Running up stairs burn a ton of calories and really improves your fitness quickly. Running up stairs burns 885, 1056, and 1294 calories per hour.

8. Skiing

Cross country skiing burns the most calories when you go uphill and put out maximum effort. Skiing in this manner burns 974, 1161, and 1423 calories per hour.

9. Squash

Squash burns about 708, 844, and 1035 calories per hour.

10. Swimming

Swimming the butterfly stroke for an hour burns 649, 774, and 949 calories per hour.
